A custom-built shade top from 1999, this Martin D-35 features a nut width of 1-7/8” and bridge string spacing of 2-5/16”. This neck taper will feel familiar to anyone who regularly plays vintage 12 fret or classical guitars, and is also the same neck that Martin uses on their 12-string models. The neck has a C carve, first fret depth of .855”, and its fretboard has Martin’s standard 16” radius. Outside of the neck carve and vintage-string spread it is a standard D-35.
In excellent condition and completely original this wide-neck D-35 shows only light use and is set up to modern shop spec. The first few frets show the lightest of wear, there are a few small dings on the top, and a touch of finish damage on the headstock’s lower corners caused by a guitar stand. The action is 5-6/64ths with a full height saddle.
A lovely sounding D-35 with 25+ years of maturing to its tonewoods. It’s bold and open, with strong lows and mids and very well balanced trebles.
With original hardshell case.
