2024 Fender Custom Shop '53 Telecaster Journeyman Relic LTD
A well conceived modern tribute to the iconic "Blackguard" Telecasters of the early 1950s, this Fender Custom Shop '53 Journeyman Relic features all the hallmarks of a golden-era Tele: A full and round neck profile, single-ply black pickguard over an attractively ambered Blond finish, ash body, and a flat-pole bridge pickup. Added up, this is a Telecaster that delivers the signature feel, tone, and vibe of an original 70 year old Fender Telecaster.
It's always funny to refer to a factory relic'd guitar as being in mint condition; however, this 2024 Custom Shop Telecaster is just that. There is virtually no evidence of playwear on this guitar apart from a few scrapes on the aged pickguard that may not have come from the Fender Factory. The light relicing on the guitar has been tastefully executed, and the guitar presents beautifully.
Equipped with a "Hand Wound Original Black Guard" pickup in the bridge position and a "Hand Wound Twisted Tele" in the neck," this guitar outputs vintage voiced Tele tones. The bridge position is thick and full bodied with excellent clarity and bite, and the neck offers a warm and airy response. The rounded "53-55 Tele" neck carve is full and robust without being too large to become cumbersome. With modern 6105 fretwire and a modern fretboard radius, playability is truly excellent. Altogether, this guitar delivers the best elements of a vintage example while delivering the uncompromised performance of a modern Fender.
Scale length of 25.5". First fret depth of 0.951" and a twelfth fret depth of 0.985". 1-5/8" nut width. Pickup DC readings of 5.6K in the neck and 10.1K in the bridge. Weight of 7lbs 3oz.
With original hardshell case and CoA.
