Michael Heiden has been honing his skills in Luthiery since the 1970s and is, today, among the world's most highly regarded mandolin builders. One chord strummed on this Deluxe F model is all the proof your pudding should need. This is a phenomenal F-5… period. From the feel of the neck to its responsive, throaty, and complex voice, this instrument would make most any F-5 player weak at the knees. Whether bluegrass or instrumental soloist, this Heiden Deluxe F will deliver something special.
Heiden carves his necks with player comfort in mind - rounded profile, radiused fingerboard and a nut width of 1-1/8". The Deluxe-level appointments include pearl-button Waverly tuners, ivoroid-bound body, neck and headstock, James tailpiece, Loar style adjustable bridge, Torch headstock inlay and bound ebony finger rest. Fully seasoned, Master-grade tonewoods were used throughout, with attractively figured big leaf maple back, sides and neck, and a perfectly quartered Red spruce top.
The instrument is in excellent condition and shows very little playwear to its finish and frets. It is crack and repair free, completely original and unaltered. Set-up in our shop, the mandolin plays exceptionally well. A balanced, responsive, open, and loud F-5.
