2011 Fender Custom Shop ’53 Telecaster Heavy Relic

A beautiful offering from the Fender Custom Shop, this '53 Telecaster Heavy Relic is an excellent tribute to the Blackguard Telecasters of the early 1950s. The Blond finish has been aged tastefully, giving the guitar an aesthetic that is notably more convincing than many Custom Shop guitars we have encountered.

Outfitted with a pair of Custom Shop Vintage Tele pickups, this reissue Blackguard delivers a rich, powerful and open response with plenty of bite from it's bridge pickup, while the neck pickup offers warm, airy, and articulate tones. The "Mid '50s Soft V" neck carve is among the most vintage accurate neck profiles that we have handled on a Custom Shop guitar. It's a wonderfully comfortable neck that feels just full enough in the hand without being cumbersome. The 6105 narrow-jumbo frets play beautifully, allowing the guitar to meet modern performance standards.

Hand Selected Premium Lightweight ash body, "thin-skin" nitrocellulose finish, custom modern wiring circuit with no dark cap, master volume and tone controls, single-ply black bakelite pickguard, original Telecaster style bridge with brass saddles. Built with original tooling.

Pickup DC values of 7.11k in the bridge and 7.05k in the neck. Scale length of 25.5". First fret depth is 0.849", twelfth fret depth is 0.956", nut width of 1-5/8". Weight of 7lbs 5oz.
