An amazing feeling, sounding, and looking Telecaster, this Fender Journeyman 50s tele from the Custom Shop leaves you wanting nothing.
The Handwound Twisted Tele pickups are nothing short of fabulous – the bridge is hot, twangy, punchy, and dynamic and without the ‘ice-pick’ bite of many vintage-output Tele pickups. While much of this thanks to the design of the Twisted Tele bridge pickup, the reverse angle bridge helps fatten up the trebles and add definition to the bass. The neck pickup is well balanced, open and much more ‘Strat-like’ than typical vintage Tele neck pickups and matches the bridge pickup’s output well.
The guitar’s neck has a perfect C shape with plenty of roll along its edges, a 1st fret depth of .865”, and the usual 1-5/8” nut width. It’s delightfully comfortable, feels round and deep, but isn’t club-like like some of the deeper necks Fender makes available.
White-bound 2-piece ash body (weight sorted) finished in Journeyman-aged Ocean Turquoise, 8-hole parchment pickguard, Fat ‘50s tele wiring, ’52 style knurled control knobs, black switch tip.
The neck is carved from AA flamed maple and features a 7.25-9.5” compound radius and 6105 narrow/tall frets.
The guitar is in ‘Relic-Mint’ condition with unworn frets. It’s been set-up in our shop with 10-46 strings and 4-5 64ths action. Playability is perfect.
7lbs 5oz. Pickup DC values are 10.2k (bridge) 5.7k (Neck)
With original hardshell case and all original case candy, COA, etc.
