1966 Gibson J-45 ADJ.
A completely original, crack free, and great sounding mid-1960s Gibson J-45. With its warmth, bass end thump and slight compression brought about by the adjustable saddle design, this guitar does the classic mid-60’s Gibson great-for-strumming thing beautifully. It’s well suited to players with a light to medium right hand attack, and is a good choice for fingerstyle, too. It’s very easy and comfortable to play and, with its low action set up, offers a very relaxed playing experience.
The original sunburst finish is very faded, as is the norm for guitars from this era. There is much fine crazing throughout, and finish wear is limited to an area of buckle-rash on the guitar’s back, and capo-caused abrasions on the back of the neck from frets 2 to 5.
No brace repairs, no cracks, excellent original neck angle, original frets with light playwear, original tuners, nut, and bridge pins. The bridge has been cleanly reglued in our shop (which is this guitar’s only repair); no braces have ever been loose or reglued.
Compact and round neck carve with a 1-9/16” nut width and first fret thickness of .811”. 24.75” scale, 2-1/8” string spread at the saddle.
With non original hardshell case.
