1965 Gibson B-45-12
Serial #345110.
A nearly perfect example of Gibson's most famous 12 string model. The B-45-12 was introduced in 1961, and found itself in the hands of some of the most notable 12 string balladeers of the 1960's. Here in Canada, Gordon Lightfoot brought fame to the B-45-12, and one can hardly think of this model of Gibson without seeing the album cover of Lightfoot's 1974 chart-topper, Sundown.
D-sized body with spruce top and mahogany back and sides, rectangle bridge with adjustable saddle insert and trapeze tailpiece. Cherry sunburst finish with white bindings, tortoise celluloid pickguard. Rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot markers, kluson double-ring tuners, pearloid headstock inlays. 24.75" scale, 2" nut width.
