2015 Gibson F-5L Fern
Gibson's F-5 Fern is a vintage-style F-5 that's inspired by the company's "Fern' F-5 instruments signed by Lloyd Loar in 1923/4. This modern version features a David Harvey Signature Master Model label.

Built in very small numbers, the Nashville-made F-5L Fern features exceptional tone woods, tonebar bracing, a lush sunburst lacquer finish, triple-bound body, headstock, and pickguard, pearl nut, and tuner buttons, and gold hardware. It's a particularly gorgeous instrument, with deep flame it its maple back, sides, and neck, even spruce top grain, and intricate fern headstock inlay.
The mandolin has a wonderful depth in its tone, excellent presence and projection, and a perfect "cut'. It's been set-up here at Folkway and plays as you'd want it to. The neck has a comfortably rounded V carve, 1-1/16” nut, and flat fingerboard. This instrument shows no wear and tear other than some tiny fretwire divots in the first position.
With original TKL Deluxe hardshell case
