1960 Fender Champ Amp and Steel Set
Steel serial # 6260, Amp serial # C12446, amp and speaker production code JA (January, 1960), capacitors, tubes, and pot all dated late 1959. Steel pots dated early 1960.

A one owner, completely original Fender Champ Steel and amp set. Another local find, and a gorgeous set. No modifications other than that the cloth insulation of the speaker leads were cut (not the wire, itself; and we can’t tell you why). The amp has never been serviced and works beautifully, with creamy drive and excellent volume. Tweed is in excellent condition, as are the grill cloth and handle. The Steel is also in excellent and original condition. There is a bit of flaking on the bridge cover and light wear on the body edges. Brown Tolex case is in similar condition. Original patch cord, steel, and picks.

1958 Fender Champ Amp
Serial # C06611. Tube chart and speaker dated February 1958 (HB). All components date-coded late 1957. With its original hang-tag and cover, this factory stock Tweed 5F1 Fender Champ is a pretty special little amp. It’s an 8” speaker version, with a bigger voice than the earlier 6” models. No changed circuitry but for a newer rectifier tube, this Champ does what it’s supposed to do, and does it well. Lots of life, volume and sparkle. And it’s seriously cooler than any newer replica! Light corner wear on the tweed, otherwise in excellent condition.

1959-60 Gibson GA-20T
Serial # 36652, Jensen P12R coded 220913 (early 1959), Capacitors and tubes also dated early 1959. The GA-20T was Gibson’s answer to Fender’s popular Deluxe model. The 6V6 powered amp offered about 16 watts through a Jensen 12” AlNiCo speaker, foot-switchable tremolo, two channels, and small cabinet. Its tone is all Gibson, though, with bite and edginess, a hard tremolo cut, and much color shaping with a turn of the tone control. This example is in exquisite condition, and has just been well serviced. All original parts included, 100% original before service. No corrosion on the control plate, tweed covering is gash-free with good corners, grillcloth is clean. We dig it.

1960 Gibson GA-77 Vanguard
Serial # 86636. Pots date between 1958 and 1960, Jensen P15N dated mid 1958. Among the most rare and sought after Gibson amps, the tweed GA-77 is incredibly dynamic and present. With a beefy and fast attack, a good amount of clean headroom, 15 inch speaker bigness, and mid-volume-level break up, the Vanguard is a perfect gigging amp. Its tone is a little rough-edged, and matches up well with brighter DeArmond equipped guitars or most any Gretsch. It’s in excellent condition, well serviced (filter caps, some solder joints, a few resistors, and AC cord), the speaker has been professionally reconed as well and handles the low frequencies well. Tweed covering is in better than average condition, with rips only at the corners. Original grill cloth is in fine shape too.
Sorry, no shipping.

1966 Fender Princeton Reverb
Tube chart code: OK; transformers, pots and caps all dated late 1965, Speaker dated 11th week of 1966.
The Blackface Princeton Reverb is the amp everyone is after these days, and it doesn't take much time to figure out why. These low-wattage combos are big enough for band practice volumes, but small enough to offer all the tone in the world at useable volumes. They feature Fender's luscious spring reverb and vibrato, and are easy to transport to practice. This one is pretty much untouched; it's never been serviced, and no solder joins have been altered; it still has its 2-prong AC cord (for better or worse)! Original 10" Jensen "Gold Foil" ceramic speaker, original (or correct vintage) tubes except for a new Ruby 5AR4 rectifier; original grille, handle, and tolex. The upper back panel is a NOS replacement, the bottom is original. The amp sounds amazing; great articulation in the low notes thanks to that 10" speaker; big, round and meaty highs; and nice compression and drive as you tweak that volume knob up. There's a small tear in the grill cloth, and a few minor scrapes on the tolex, but the amp is in close to excellent condition. You'll need to supply your own two-button foot switch, or we can furnish a new one from Fender.

1964 Gibson GA-RVT19 Falcon
The GA RVT-19 was Gibson’s equivalent to Fender’s Deluxe Reverb. Similar on paper, but quite different in tone. The Gibson is a dirtier sounding amp with more compression, a deeper and surfier tremolo, and more growl. This one is in quite excellent condition and has been thoroughly and recently serviced. New reverb pan and choke, new old stock speaker, and replaced AC cord, along with the usual caps and a couple of resistors. Probably the most tone you’ll find anywhere close to this price. Original footswitch included. No shipping on this one, sorry.

1963 Fender Princeton
The 6G2 Princeton was introduced in ’61 in a brown tolex 12 watt combo. By 1963 the brown was dropped in favor of the new black tolex and faceplate, but at the time this amp was built the white knobs were still in use. It looks pretty good, huh? By 1964 the 6G2 was replaced by the AA964 with separate bass and treble controls and true “Blaceface” looks. A lively little amp with the perfect balance of power, compression, and size, this Princeton is a stellar small-room amp. Replaced baffle, original grill cloth, replaced output transformer for more clean headroom, correct spec power transformer dates to 1966, 10” Weber 10F150 speaker, serviced, and new ac cord. Original footswitch and output transformer provided.

1957 Fender Super Amp
A narrow-panel tweed 6L6 Fender Super amplifier! The amp sounds like a million bucks, and will make you throw away every effect pedal that you've ever owned. There is not much out there that sounds as good as this thing does when you inch up the volume past half-way.
In pretty much original condition, this amp has been well serviced and has had the following minor changes: Original Jensen P-10R's have been re-coned, the power cord has been replaced with a grounded plug, the standby switch, presence pot, and speaker jack have been changed. The tweed, grill, handle, knobs, back panels, and innards are all there. The work was all done to the highest professional standards. Power transformer code of 8087, pot codes of 304738, capacitor codes from '56 and '57, and a chassis stamp of S01789 date the amp to '57. Unfortunately the paper tube chart is ripped, and the speakers have no date stampings on them. The original tweed covering is in used condition, with worn corners, but has no extreme wear. The upper back panel was once painted black, but in removing the paint the previous owner also removed the lacquer from the tweed. The amp looks superb, so to speak. The custom made padded cover is included with the amplifier. This is a rare opportunity to own one of the most desirable Fender amps ever made.

1966 Fender Vibrolux Reverb
Tube chart code PB (February 1966), chassis code dates the 8th week of '66; Speakers, pots and transformers all date to late 1965 or very early 1966. 35 watts, original Gold-back Jensens, recently serviced with new AC cord, a few replaced tubes, and a repro upper back panel. This Vibrolux will make any guitar sound good. The 6L6s, mid-power and 2x10” speakers really create something incredible with this package. Warm with just a hint of an edge, fairly un-compressed, and with lushious trem and reverb, fans of clean Fender tone will definitely get a kick out of this amp.

Serviced and ready to play. Really not much difference between this ’75 and a 10 year older blackface, making this amp a real bargain for killer tone. No footswitch.

Mason amplifiers and instruments were built by the Galt Musical Instrument Company here in Southern Ontario. Largely unknown in the USA, Masons are regular fare in our part of the world, but we’ve never seen one anywhere as cool as this little 6 watter. With its Jetson-esqu design and 50’s service tag, this amp wins the “best looking amp in shop” award this year; and it’s small size, 10” speaker, and great small amp tone will make it a piece of artwork that you’ll love using. Original single RCA 6V6 power tube, GE 6SL7 pre-amp tube, and GE 5Y3 rectifier; Hammond transformer and field-coil speaker. 100% unmodified and original, and in good working order. We’d recommend capacitor service though, as it’s a little bit hummy.

1962 National Bass 70 Amp
Big tone. I'd put this Bass-70 up against any $4000 amp any day of the week. It has about 35 6L6-powered watts coming through a pair of 12" alnico speakers; and is just about the perfect size combo for band volumes. You can play it clean at high enough levels, but dig in on the strings a bit and your pickups will send that extra sizzle to send the amp into a gorgeous creamy overdrive. It's been serviced and re-tubed and the tone-switch has been disabled, but you'll find all the tone-color adjustment you'll want in the amp's bass/treble knob. Bummer that its missing its National Logo, but at least that won't make it sound any worse!

1960's Mason Amp
Built down the road from us in Galt, Ontario; the Mason Company offered Canadians a quality alternative to the more costly Fenders imported from south of the border. The amp is pretty similar in circuitry to a Princeton; the steel is pretty much its own thing. Matching "Poltergeist-grey" coverings, colorful felt lined case and (now faded) grillcloth. Both steel and amp work flawlessly; the amp has just been thoroughly serviced and fitted with a 10" Jensen P12Q on a new birch-ply baffle; new tubes, caps, and AC cord. It's probably the best sounding $500 amp I've played. Steel is no longer available, sorry.

1965 Supro Thunderbolt S6420
Here it is folks "The Amp". Purely simple low-fi, high gain. Versatile? Nope. Thunderous? Yup. Designed exclusively as a bass amp and marketed as a lightweight jazz unit the thunderbolt proved to be well... not a great bass amp or jazz unit. But you know what they say: One man's junk is another man's treasure. Well at least Hendrix and Page thought so. Hendrix owned a Thunderbolt and Page was known to use Supros on the early Led Zeppelin recordings. This simple beast squeezes your signal through one volume, and one tone (both best left at 10) two 12ax7s, two 6L6GCs, one 5U4 rectifier tube, a giant transformer and out a C15P Jensen 15" speaker. The result? Killer blues machine with tons of low end. This one is mint. Not a scratch in the "rhino hide" blue tolex, no corrosion on its shiny chrome chassis, no buzzy caps, and full-power original tubes. With the exception of the three prong power supply cord, a new power-supply filter cap and two new pre-amp tubes the amp is untouched (We'll provide the original parts with the amp). You will never, ever, find one this clean again - and for that, this one is going to cost you big bucks.

1957 Fender Super

A gem of an amplifier, this 1957 Super is in top notch shape and sounds terrific. Recent professional servicing included a cap job, new power cord and tubes. We've installed a pair of new Weber Alnico 10A100's and removed the original Jensens for posterity's sake (one of them sounds a little buzzy at high volume - you'll get a total of 4 speakers with this amplifier, the two originals, and the new Webers). An interesting 5E4 with a factory original Tremolux power section: the amplifier has an 8160 power transformer, 5AR4 rectifier, 6V6 power tubes, two 12AX7's and a single 12AY7. It must have been built on a Friday. With the lighter-duty Tremolux power section the amp breaks up at slightly lower volumes than a standard 5E4 or the later 6L6 equipped 5F4 Supers - making this amp an excellent choice for the studio or smaller venues. There's tone a'plenty at 3 on the volume knob. Original tweed shows its age, particularly on the corners, but it's not been repaired or modified. Original grille cloth is tear-free, and the handle is a newer replacement (the broken original will be provided). A magnificent amp, from Fender's golden age.

1964 Ampeg R-12R
Serial # 003006. Speaker date 44th week or 1964, reverb pan dated 51st week of 1964, pots all date 1964. When introduced in 1961, the R-12R Reverberocket was the very first production amplifier to boast on board reverb, or "Echo" as Ampeg labeled it. Today those original Reverberockets are classics on the vintage amplifier market, and a favorite of Jazzers and Rockabillies alike. This one is in excellent condition, and is completely original. It has not been serviced ever, and with the obvious exception of its non-functional tremolo, it sounds like it's fine without. Original Ampeg branded tubes, original CTS 12" Alnico speaker; original blue check vinyl covering, grill cloth, and handle. At 15 watts, the Reverberocket has often been considered an able substitute for Fender's Princeton Reverb, and while we might have a little to say about that, we think it's a pretty darn good sounding tube combo for the cash.

1960's Hohner Orgaphon Amplifier
For those of you who are tired of the mundane, may we suggest this EL-84 equipped German made Hohner Orgaphon 2x12 combo. Not you every day amplifier, the Orgaphone is actually an accordion amplifier - but we all think it's true calling is Rock n' Roll. It's about the size and power of a Fender Twin, but that's were the similarities end. Two channels, each with independent tremolo but with a shared reverb/drive control (as you dial up the reverb a heck of a lot of drive and howl comes along for the ride). The Bass channel has volume and tone controls, the Normal side is equipped with volume, bass, and treble. The sound comes at you through a pair of German 15 ohm 12" ceramic speakers, but the amplifier has a pair of speaker outs and is switchable between 15 and 3 ohms (really). The whole thing works perfectly and has a tone unlike anything else you're likely to find. It's a big, loud, and unrefined Blitzkrieg of an amplifier and sounds amazing. If you want the Farfisa accordion that came with it (not pictured) add on $250 to the price.

1960 Fender Tremolux
The Tweed Tremolux is unlike any other amplifier Fender produced up to that point. Essentially a Deluxe, but with tremolo, the Tremolux remained the highest power amp in the Fender lineup that had built-in tremolo. 6V6 powered, with a single 12" Alnico, mounted in a Pro-sized box. The amp pictured here is a model 5E9-A. Its tube chart dates to January 1960, pots date 1959, and transformers date late 1959. The amp has just emerged from our tech's shop after standard servicing; it has been re-tweeded gorgeously, and has a replacement Weber Signature Alnico speaker. Its point-to-point wiring is pretty much all original (minus the usual changed caps and resistors) as are the pots and transformers. Original knobs, grille-cloth, and handle. Introduced as the "Professional" back in 1946 and simplified to "Pro" shortly thereafter, the amp was next up from the Deluxe in fender's lineup. The 1951 TV-front Pro pictured here features a 15" Jensen Field Coil speaker, a pair of 6L6's in the power section, 6SC7 preamp tubes, and a 5U4 Rectifier. Tone, and two volumes are what you get - and they're all you'll want! Two instrument and two mic inputs to choose from. The amp sounds delicious - it makes me want to sell my car. Professionally serviced and re-capped, the Jensen F15N speaker was re-coned, and the AC cord replaced with a grounded plug. The handle is a non-original old-stock replacement, and the power tubes and first 6SC7 are newer. Original transformers, switch, knobs, pots, resistors, etc. Original Tolex has some moisture damage on front at bottom as is evident in the photos, and the grill cloth and baffle are original. To sweeten this deal even further, the amp comes with a heavy duty flight case (it's sized for a Twin, but is padded out to fit the Pro).

1966 Gibson GA-20RVT
Gibson's GA-20RVT is a 20 watt EL-84 powered combo with 12" ceramic CTS speaker, reverb, and tremolo. Built only for a couple of years, the GA-20 (or Minuteman as it's also known) is not a particularly common amp, but thanks to a not-so-similar re-issue recently offered by Gibson, the model is seeing something of a renaissance these days. Don't confuse this one with the new models though - nothing but vintage tube tone here, folks. It's in great shape, with no rips or tears to the Tolex or cloth, and has had minor servicing to bring it up to modern snuff. New power cords, filter caps; that kind of stuff. A nice small tube amp... RVT channel is somewhat quieter than the normal channel; we understand that this is a design shortcoming with this model.

The head is mostly stock, but has replacement tubes, AC cord, and 1/4" footswitch input jack. Transformers are all original and date to the first weeks of '66. Original 1964 Oxford 10" speakers, professionally reconed. There is some minor wear to the tolex on both the head and the cab, but there are no major rips or gashes to report. A fine sounding vintage Blackface for not too much cash.

1962 Gibson GA-18T
With foot-switch able tremolo, a pair of EL84 power tubes, a 12" Ceramic Canadian Jensen, and about 14 watts the GA-18T is highly prized for its small-amp breakup and big-amp tone. A very fine sounding lower wattage tube combo, and a killer blues amp. It can't be much longer until the amps built by Gibson start realizing the vintage dollars and cache of some of those other companies amps! Original tolex and grill cloth in excellent shape, and no real wear to the chassis, knobs, or handle. It is missing it's back panel though, but those are easy to make...

1968 Fender Bronco Amp
In late 1967, Fender introduced the Bronco Amp as a companion to its Bronco guitar. Rather than designing an entirely new amplifier, the CBS-Fender team simply relableled a Vibro Champ Amp. The Bronco is identical to the Vibro Champ in every way and only the names on the control panel are different. Vibro Champ production was far greater than Bronco production making Bronco Amps rather uncommon. The amp shown here is an early example which sports the typical cosmetic features of the earliest silverface amps including vertical lines on the control panel, first style silverface grillcloth, and aluminum grill trim. This one is near mint and all original including the amp cover. And it's so cute and small that we'll be happy to pack it into a nice little box and ship it to your door!

1964 Fender Princeton Reverb
Tube chard code: NL, power transformer code 606-439. Fender Electric Instruments on control plate. Although this amp has various changed parts, its original circuit has not been modified. The baffle has been replaced with a Baltic Birch plywood board, cut for a 12" speaker; the output transformer and choke are new Mojo units, the speaker is a new Weber 12F150-O, and all the tubes except for the rectifier have been replaced. It has had a cap job and its power cord replaced in recent servicing. Original caps, one changed pot, power cord and tubes accompany the amp. It's a great sounding amplifier - some say the best lower-wattage amp ever - and is in perfect working order.

1960 DeArmond 60B Tremolo Control
DeArmond's famous mechanical tremolo is very lo-fi, and sounds gorgeous. The first version of the effect was introduced in 1948, and aside from the box it's housed in, not much changed over the years in production. The unit produces its liquidy tremolo effect by sending the guitar's signal to ground, and does so through the use of a water-based electrolytic fluid. For an in depth explanation of how this pedal works please have a look at Dan Formosa's highly informative website
The unit has been serviced and works faultlessly. It is a must for any well equipped recording studio. Rate and depth controls, on and off, and master power.
With original AC cord and 1/4" coax connector

1964 Fender Vibroverb
What can I say about an original '64 Fender Vibroverb... If you haven't played one, you ought to! This pre-CBS amp is completely stock with the exception of a re-cone to it's original 15" Oxford, a cap job, and grounded plug. The tubes are all original, too - including the RCA 6L6's. One 1/2" tear in the grille-cloth, no wear to the Tolex. Original transformers all date to 1964, as do the pots, speaker and chassis codes, and tube-chart stamps. Original foot switch. As you might imagine, it sounds pretty good... Ok ok - it sounds ridiculously good!

1980 Fender Deluxe Reverb
It's amazing to think that Fender was still hand-wiring tube amps in 1980, but they were, and here's a 1980 Silverface Deluxe reverb to prove it. A great sounding point-to-point wired box, with a solid pine cabinet, reverb and tremolo. It's had some servicing lately - replaced filter caps, tubes, speaker (it's a Celestion G12H) and power transformer. It sounds great, and has a lot of clean head-room thanks to that Celestion speaker. A lower wattage Weber or Jensen will make the amp dive at a lower volume, if that's what you're after.

1964 Fender Tremolux Amp
Some call the Tremolux the "Perfect amp". With about 35 watts of power, and one of the sweetest tremolo circuits ever designed this amp can do Surf, Country, Blues, or anything else you want to put through it. This is a transitional model - built in Feb. '64 - with blond tolex and a blackface panel. It is in great cosmetic shape, with original tolex, grill cloth, knobs and parts and Fender badges. The circuit board is all original, but the power transformer is a replacement. Two strong original RCA 6L6's handle the power well, and the amp sounds great. The cab houses two original 12" speakers, and a lot of 40 year old fiberglass baffling. It is a beautiful specimen, and on consignment from one of this country's foremost guitar collectors.
