1928 Stahl Style 8
The guitar is exquisite and in excellent playing condition. Apart from a fairly extensive area of playwear on the top that has been carefully sealed with a thin French Polish, the guitar is largely original and without flaw. Its neck has recently been cleanly reset, the frets are nicely dressed, and the set-up was just finished up here at Folkway using the original nut and new bone saddle. Original tuners, bridge, pins, finish, and bridgeplate. No internal repairs to speak of, but there is one cleanly repaired top crack and some neck wear caused by an ancient capo to report on.
The guitar measures 13.5” wide and is dimensionally similar to a Martin 0-size 12 fret. It has a powerful voice with lots of mid-range push, excellent articulation and a clean fundamental. It can handle a heavy right-hand attack, too.
Rounded C-shaped neck carve, 1-7/8” nut width, 2-5/16” at the saddle, 24.9” scale.
With original hardshell case
