1936 Martin 0-17
Classic dry, open, and responsive pre-War all-mahogany tone. Trebles are thick and round, midrange is full and present, basses are articulated and full -- particularly considering the guitar's small size. A responsive guitar, it reacts well to a light touch; but, like most mid-1930's Martin guitars, a flatpick brings all kinds of goodness out as well.
Rounded neck that transitions to a soft V by the 5th fret, 1-3/4" ebony nut, 24.9" scale. Original 'cliped-plate' Grover tuning machines in excellent working order; full-height Brazilian rosewood bridge, glued in aged bone saddle. Currently set up with light-gauge strings and an action of 5 to 7 64ths of an inch at the 12th fret, with plenty of saddle height for future adjustments.
