1943 Martin 0-17T

Serial # 83613. A small tenor guitar with a robust bass response and full, clear trebles. This Wartime 0-17T is one of those difficult-to-put-down guitars, even if you don't know how to play in fifths! It's light and resonant, and has a thick, round fullness in its tone that's reminiscent of some vintage six-sting 12-fretters.

Completely original, including full-height saddle, bridge-pins and frets, the guitar had a neck reset by Mark Stutman a few years back. He repaired a top crack and cleanly reglued two loose brace ends while he was at it. The guitar is set up with a low-E tuning (E.B.F#. C#), which really brings out all the depth and warmth a tenor has to offer; but it can easily accommodate octave mandolin or standard C tenor tuning. The finish is beautifully crazed but in fine condition, frets are unworn, and the original Kluson tuners work well. Scale length is 23", neck measures 1-7/32" at the nut. K&K pure pickup professionally installed.
