1957 Gibson ES-225T

Gibson's first thinline electric, the ES-225T was introduced in 1955 and shared the body of an ES-175, albeit at half the depth. The guitar featured a single P-90 pickup mounted half-way between the bridge and fingerboard, a wrap-around trapeze tailpiece borrowed from the first Les Pauls and the ES-295, and a sunburst finish. The guitar's fingerboard was bound in white and featured dot makers, the pickguard was 5-ply celluloid, and the tuners with individual Klusons with white buttons.

This example is easily the finest we've ever come across and is 100% original, but for the pickguard's mounting bracket. The guitar is essentially unused, and shows no fretwear, playwear, or finish damage. There's not even a strap-button in the heel of the neck. Wire harness is completely factory stock, with no repairs. The guitar was set-up done by us, and the it plays as beautifully as it looks.

Round neck, 1-11/16" width at the nut, 24.75" scale. Excellent neck angle, and plenty of adjustment room left to the bridge/tailpiece.

With original hardshell case, in equal condition.
