1959 Gibson J-45
The guitar is in great shape and shows much less playwear than most. There are no cracks, and repairwork is minimal. We’ve replaced the original ceramic saddle, which was cracked, reglued a brace end, replaced the first 3 frets, and set it up with comfortably low action. The bridge was likely reglued in years past and the work was well done. It’s otherwise straight, clean, and original. In 1959 the J-45 was still built with a small maple bridgeplate and 50’s shaped bridge.
The neck has a classic 1950s Gibson carve, with a round profile, 1-11/16 nut width, and a first fret depth of .854”. Neck depth at the 9th fret tapers up to .983”, and the string spread at the saddle is 2-1/8”.
