1959 Martin 000-18

A lovely late 50’s 000-18 that’s in wonderful condition, plays perfectly, and has that dry, fundamental, and balanced tone that a post-war vintage mahogany Martin is famous for.

This guitar was through our shop about a decade back for a neck reset and refret. The frets now show light wear and are in very good shape overall. Bone nut and saddle by our shop, set up with 12s at 4-64ths at the 12th fret. Original unmodified bridge, original finish throughout with a few drop-filled dings and lightly sealed playwear by the soundhole that’s hard to notice. There’s a repaired pickguard crack under the B string, no other top or back cracks, and a few repaired 1” long side cracks of little significance. Original bridge plate and no brace repairs. The tuners have been upgraded to aged-finish Waverlys, which is a fabulous improvement to the 50’s Grover Sta-Tites these guitars came with from the factory. If you’d like to compare, the originals are in the case pocket.

Nut width of 1-11/16, compact carve with a softened V feel and 24.9” scale.

With modern Martin hardshell case
