1960 Gibson ES-175

The single PAF Humbucker ES-175 is among the most iconic electric Jazz guitars of the post-war era. The guitar’s cut-away 16” body, flat-wound strings, and neck pickup are a winning combination for the genre, and with the tone rolled down there’s little else that sounds like it.

This example sports an untouched original PAF pickup and wire harness, a 1959 Factory Order number, and an early 1960 serial number. The neck has a round and full 1959 carve with a 1st fret depth of .89” and a 1-11/16” nut. The PAF has a DC resistance of 8.4k, and is an incredible sounding pickup. It’s got everything going on.

The guitar is in excellent condition and 100% original but for a perfect replacement pickguard. The original tuners are in the case pocket with crumbling buttons, and a set of new Klusons are on the guitar, with the original bushings and mounting screws reused. Original frets show very little wear, and the set-up is perfect. Finish is original throughout and in excellent condition as well.

A heavenly Jazz guitar, with original hardshell case.
