1960 Gibson GA-8T

Gibson’s short-lived GA-8T Gibsonette Tremolo is an amplifier that never made it into the catalogs. It was replaced by the nearly-identical Discoverer Tremolo in 1960, which differed only in its use of a 12” speaker, rather than the 10” use in this earlier model. Featuring about 12 or 15 watts and the hugely satisfying tremolo that few other designs can touch, this GA-8T is an absurdly good sounding amplifier. It’s touch sensitive and dynamic, and offers a wonderfully thick and creamy overdriven tone that’s most comparable to a tweed Fender Deluxe.

This example has been professionally serviced and safetied, and has a replacement Jensen speaker. It’s in perfect work order, with original transformers and footswitch.
