1961 Fender Princeton

An outstanding sounding 5F2-A Princeton from 1961. The amplifier came to us completely original and has just been carefully serviced by Dom Tantalo. Dom replaced filter caps and cathode bypass caps, rehousing the new parts in the original capacitor outer cylinders. The ‘death cap’ has been removed, and proper fuse wiring and a grounded AC cord were added. Beyond that, all that was required was contact cleaning and checking over the original speaker and mounting screws. It’s an all-original 5F2-A circuit with original transformers, original speaker, original tweed, cloth, and handle, and it’s in great shape. All the original parts that were removed during servicing accompany the amplifier.

Transformers are dated 40th and 41st week of 1960, the original Jensen 8” speaker dates to the 14th week of 1959, the capacitors are all dated to 1960, and the chassis is stamped KA, indicating January of 1961. The tube chart’s date stamp has faded away.
