1961 Gibson ES-335TD
This example is in incredible condition and has a vibrant un-faded Cherry finish, original PAF pickups and electronics, and no hardware changes. There are no breaks or repairs, modifications, or playability concerns; and, with well-below average finish wear, this 1961 ES-335TD is a remarkable example of its breed and a sight for sore eyes.
The guitar’s slimmer early ‘60s neck is very comfortable and easy to play, and the original frets show very light wear, unsurprisingly. The guitar offers plenty of sustain and has a bit more airiness than a Les Paul on account of the semi-hollow construction. The neck PAF is powerful and incredibly creamy without being overly dark or muddy, and the bridge PAF is full and warm. DC values are 7.4k (b) and 8.1k (n); both pickups are double-blacks. The neck pickup looks to have had its cover off, the bridge appears untouched; and the pots and caps are original.
1-11/16” nutwidth, 24.75” scale. Neck thickness at the 1st fret is .795” and measures .865” at the 12th. Weight is 7.6 lbs.
An incredible sounding guitar that epitomizes the country-rock, blues, and jazz capabilities of the PAF equipped Dot-neck ES-335. It’s dynamic and touch-sensitive, wonderfully balanced, and throaty in just the right way. You’ll likely end up selling off your pedals.
With original brown/pink Gibson case.
