1965 Fender Jazzmaster
Built in the early days of 1965, this Jazzmaster features all "pre-CBS" appointments, including an unbound fingerboard with clay dot markers, Stratocaster-style control knobs, and an "L" series serial number. While technically being built after the sale of the company, many would consider this to be a "pre-CBS" Fender Jazzmaster thanks to its collection of earlier features.
With a fantastic sounding pair of original grey bobbin pickups and a pro refret, this '65 Jazzmaster performs beautifully in both tone and playability. Expect a full-bodied voice with excellent clarity in the bridge position, warm and airy response in the neck, and wonderfully dynamic tones in the middle that are rich and articulate. With recently installed tall frets, this guitar offers the flawless playability that one expects from a professional level instrument.
Boasting a particularity attractive three-tone sunburst finish with minimal play wear, this 1965 Fender Jazzmaster is an undeniably handsome instrument. The guitar is largely original, save some previous electronics work. A second output jack has been added, allowing a player to send signal from both pickups to two amplifiers. With the exception of a 1966 Centralab tone pot, all potentiometers are original Stackpole pots dated to early 1965. Our repair shop removed some light overspray on the back of the guitar's neck, restoring the guitar's authentic worn in feel.
