1965 Gibson B-45-12

1965 Gibson B-45-12 Gibson’s B-45-12 was the company’s first Dreadnought-sized 12 string model, and was introduced in 1961 as a round-shouldered model before adopting the new Martin-esque square body a year later. This example features a 14 fret neck joint, natural finish, and a pin bridge with adjustable saddle.

The guitar has been set-up here at Folkway and plays easily, with an action of 5-6 64ths at the 12th fret. The frets have recently been replaced and show no playwear, adding to the guitar’s excellent playability.

There a few repaired top cracks, a filled out-put jack hole in the side, the saddle and pins have been replaced, and the tuners are period correct, but not original.

Mahogany and spruce body, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, 2” nut width, 24.75” scale. Original finish throughout, with craze-lines and plenty of patina.
