1966 Fender Mustang

A completely original late 1965/early 1966 Fender Mustang in Dakota Red. Neck dated November 1965, pots are 42nd week of 1965, Serial number suggests very early 1966. The slab rosewood fingerboard on this one is particular to the Mustangs, Duosonics, and Musicmasters of this period, and is a nice bonus.

Set-up in shop, this Mustang plays well with original frets that have been nicely dressed. The nut has never been out, and the guitar’s finish shows below average wear and tear. Pickup DC values are 5.4 and 5.5 kOhms, the guitar weighs a little less than 7.9 lbs.
