1966 Fender Precision Bass
The body looks like a one-piece, judging by the exposed and worn alder on the back. The buckle wear is three-dimensional and smooth; it’s very cool to see how the factory pin-router hole plug has been worn more slowly than the surrounding flat-sawn alder. Maple neck with veneer Brazilian rosewood board and pearloid dots.
Neck date is May 1966; pots are original with the tone pot dating to the 34th week of 1966 and the volume pot date code soldered over; pickup codes are 11-9-66.
The pickup DC resistance is 10.2k. The neck has a 1-11/16” nutwidth, first fret depth of .850” and 12th fret depth of .973. The bass weighs in at a respectably light 8.7 lbs.
