1966 Martin D12-35

Serial # 208095. An amazingly well preserved 12 string D-35 from the early in the model's second year of production. Introduced in 1965 along with the 6 string version, the 12 string D-35 featured a 3-piece Brazilian rosewood back, extra purflings on the sides and back, and a bound fingerboard. Ebony fingerboard and bridge, style 28 rosette, slotted headstock with 6/strip original Waverly tuning machines. The guitar's original tortoiseshell celluloid pickguard is a gorgeous touch, particularly as all D-35s built after 1966 were fitted with black guards.

The guitar appears to have not been played; there is no play-wear on the guitar's frets or finish. The neck has not been reset either, and the bridge is full thickness. The only real flaw is a glued crack at the outside margin of the pickguard. There are a few craze lines in the finish that look like they might be cracks, but close inspection reveals otherwise. In short it's a spectacularly clean 60's 12 string, and lovely sounding one, too.

24.9" scale neck, 1-7/8" nut width, rounded carve. Action measures 5-7 64ths at the 12th fret / body joint with 1/16" of saddle above the bridge. Original Corian nut and saddle; original frets.

With original hardshell case.
