1967 Martin D-18
A crack-free guitar with very little playwear, this 5o-something year old D-18 doesn’t have too many strikes against it to report on. There is some finish damage caused by a vinyl strap, new bridgepins and bone saddle, and the pickguard is a nicely-made tortoiseshell celluloid replacement that’s been properly glued to the top inside the footprint of the original. Apart from that it’s completely original, including tuners, nut, frets and finish. It’s had a cleanly done neck reset, and the frets are freshly dressed. Action is currently set at 5-6+ 64ths with medium strings. Set-up by us.
The neck has a comfortable feel with a rounded, semi-deep, compact carve and a nutwidth just under 1-11/16”. 2-1/8” string spacing at the bridge, 25.4” scale.
