1973 Fender Telecaster Deluxe
This example has pots dated the 9th and 15th week of 1973. The neck has the “Tel-Delx 73” stamp that’s typical of early Tele Deluxes. The pickups both measure 10.3k, and the guitar weighs in at 7.7 lbs. The neck has a comfortably round carve and medium depth, with a 1-5/8” nutwidth, a 1st fret thickness of .840” and a depth at the 12th fret of .917”.
The frets show average pitting, and the guitar’s finish shows similarly average wear. Playability remains very good, despite moderate string divots in certain frets. The tuners, jack cup, and bridge saddles have all been replaced and the original parts remain in the case pocket. Apart from the Electrosocket jack cup, none of the replaced parts required any modification to the guitar. The current tuners are staggered-height accurate reproductions. Electronics and solder are all original. Set-up in shop with 11-49 strings.
