1973 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe

An early 1970’s Gibson Les Paul Deluxe that’s been ridden hard and put up wet but is always at the ready for the next gig. The guitar shows plenty of finish wear to its neck and body edges, there are a few cigarette burns in the top, and whoever last refretted the neck decided to cut the fret slots through the binding. There are sections of replaced binding on the treble side of the fingerboard, the newer pickguard was installed with a new screw hole into the side binding, and the body has been routed for full-size humbuckers. The tuners are replacements, as are the strap buttons, jack plate, and much of the wiring. The finish is original. Three-piece maple top, and sandwich mahogany body.

Set-up here, this LP Deluxe plays well on frets that show average wear. It tips the scales at 10.75 lbs. The neck pickup measures 7.8 k, and the Ibanez humbucker in the bridge is a high-power 16.3k unit. The neck has a low C carve and a 1-11/16” nut.
