1975 Guild D35-SB
Meticulously cared for through its entire life, this guitar has never experienced a dry winter or a hot car on a summer day. It’s almost never been played with a pick, and it’s never been in a smoke-filled bar. Its previous owner is fastidious about his guitars, and this D35 is a witness to that. Long and short, this guitar comes from a good home!
All that said, there is a little bit of playwear by the soundhole and the finish on the back of the neck has been partially worn away from the years of use. The original frets are in surprisingly good shape and show relatively little wear (a testament to a controlled and relaxed left hand, a light touch, and low action). The set up is fairly low, measuring 5 to under 6 64ths at the 12th fret and the guitar plays with little to no buzz. We dressed the frets a number of years back, and they remain quite usable. Bone nut and compensated saddle by our shop, and a Fishman Matrix pickup system has been installed.
The neck has a very comfortable C carve that’s much like a 50’s Gibson, the nut is 1-11/16”, and the scale is 25.5”.
Mahogany and spruce body with sunburst top, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, black bindings and tortoise celluloid pickguard. No cracks or repairs, and original finish throughout.
With period hardshell case
