1992 Oskar Graf Concert Steel String
Oskar Graf’s steel string guitars are of legendary reputation here in Canada thanks to their phenomenal tone, excellent fundamental presence, unique design, and masterful craftsmanship. We’ve never played one that was anything but remarkable, and this cedar and rosewood Concert model scores very high marks with all of us here at the shop.
At 16” wide, this instrument could be considered a ‘small jumbo’ but fits more like an OM thanks to its tight waist and curvy body lines. The neck has a comfortably round carve that’s not big or slim, a 1-3/4 nut, and medium length 25.2” scale.
The guitar is tastefully appointed with Graf’s trademark mosaic rosette, mitred purflings and rosewood bindings. Ebony fingerboard and bridge, gold Schaller tuners, bone nut and saddle, and thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish.
Approaching 30 years old, this Graf shows average wear to its finish but has not suffered any structural damage or humidity-related cracking. It’s in great shape, all told, as long as you don’t mind some minor dings, dents, and small scratches. The frets are nicely dressed and play cleanly with a 5-7 64ths set-up and regular light strings.
