1993 Fender Vibroverb ’63 Reissue

Fender’s ‘90s Vibroverb reissue is a modern reenactment of one of Fender’s more elusive and desirable vintage models – the 2x10 Vibroverb built in 1963. This first Vibroverb model was based on the Super and was the first Fender amp to incorporate reverb in its design. In 1964 Fender revamped the Vibroverb as it did with its entire blackface era lineup, and shortly thereafter discontinued the model. Today, original Vibroverbs hold mythical status and are phenomenally hard to come by.

The 1990’s ’63 Reissue does an excellent job of recreating the tone and reverb quality of the original 2x10 Vibroverb, and although not an exact copy (it’s a circuit board amp) it incorporates a direct-coupled oscillator circuit for the tremolo, and the warmer reverb circuit these amps are famous for. Fender remanufactured original-style Oxford speakers just for this model, too.

This example has been well used but apart from its somewhat ragged looks, it sounds fabulous and has just been serviced. There are a few tears in the grill cloth, some nicks in the tolex, and some general wear all-over. The original footswitch is included and functions properly.
