1995 Gibson J-100 XTRA Lefty

Gibson’s J-100 XTRA is a dressed down version of the company’s flagship J-200, built with mahogany back and sides rather than maple. This factory left-handed example features lefty-specific scalloped braces, rosewood moustache bridge, and an after-market faux-tortoise pickguard. It’s a great strummer, with nice lows and crisp top end.

Spruce and mahogany body with 4-ply top bindings and matching rosette, gloss natural finish on the top and dark brown back and sides. The neck is mahogany with unbound rosewood fingerboard. Gold logo and crown on the headstock, Kluson-style Gibson tuners. The guitar is in good condition but for a few lacquer chips in the neck finish and average fretwear. A pickup was removed from the guitar, the Takemine-style endpin jack covers a mahogany plug in the endblock but is not connected to anything currently.

Low C neck carve, 1-11/16” nut, 25.4” scale.
