1997 Taylor 610

An attractive maple and sitka Dreadnought built about 25 years ago, this Taylor 610 has matured into a remarkably good sounding instrument, and one that pushes the definition of the maple guitar. The basses are strong, open, and defined, and with mids and trebles that are in balance, this 610 can flat-pick with alongside most any rosewood or mahogany Dread. But back off the right hand energy somewhat, and the guitar softens up into a dynamic and touch sensitive instrument that takes to lighter strumming, and even fingerstyle, remarkably well.

A very pretty guitar with tasteful appointments, this 610 features a perfectly quarter-sawn Sitka spruce top with X bracing, figured maple back and sides, aged white bindings with attractive purflings to the top, back, and sides, and an abalone-pearl rosette. Mahogany neck with bound ebony fingerboard and headplate, pearl inlays in the fingerboard and headstock. Gold Grover tuners, original Tusq nut, new Taylor compensated saddle, and original ebony pins.

The guitar has had its top centerseam reglued in our shop and a careful set up with Elixir 12s.

1-11/16” nut witdth, 25.5” scale, 2-3/16” string spread at the bridge, low C neck carve.

With original hardshell case
