2004 Santa Cruz D/PW
This example was bought new at Folkway over a decade ago, and has been lovingly cared for through its life. It has opened up into a very fine sounding Dreadnought, with excellent volume across the strings; strong, open and clear bass end, and powerful trebles.
The /PW in the model's name is short form for Pre-War, and refers to the instrument's forward-shifted scalloped top bracing. Sitka Spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, black bindings and simple top purflings. Ebony fingerboard and bridge, bone nut and compensated saddle, vintage-style open-geared tuners and pearl headstock logo. Very comfortable rounded-V neck carve with full depth and a 1-11/16" width at the nut and 2-3/16" string spread at the bridge. Set-up in shop with medium gauge strings and an action just under 5-6 64ths.
The guitar is in excellent condition, with no cracks, breaks, repairs, or issues. There are small dings visible on the top, and the frets show very light wear in the first position.
