2007 Gibson Explorer, Guitar of the Week #43

Released as the 43rd instrument of Gibson’s 2007 “Guitar of the Week” series, the Gibson Explorer features mahogany body and neck, ebony fretboard, ’57 Classics pickups, and a Vibrola tailpiece.

This example is in excellent condition and shows very little playwear apart from some minor scuffing on the back. It’s been set-up here and plays well on unworn frets, with low action and 10-46 strings.

Round neck with a lowish C feel, 1-11/16” nut, and 24.75” scale. The neck depth at the 1st fret is .805”, and it thickens up to .860” at the 12th fret. Pickup DC values are 7.7 (n) and 8.0 (b), and the guitar tips the scales at a respectable 9.2 lbs.

With original hardshell case
