2011 Gretsch 6122-1958 Chet Atkins Country Gent ’58 Reissue

An absolutely stunning guitar, this Gretsch 6122-1958 Country Gent has everything going for it - great looks, fabulous tone, perfect playability, and near-mint condition. It’s a fairly difficult model to find on the market, sadly, and one of the finest of Gretsch’s Japanese-made vintage reissues to date.

Based on the earliest 6122 Country Gents which were produced in 1958, the reissue features a 17” wide single-cut body with trestle bracing and 2.75” depth. Figured maple ply construction with faux f-holes, dark walnut stain, multi-layered bindings, and gloss finish. Gold hardware and unplated Bigsby, Chet Atkins ‘Signpost’ plexi pickguard. Grover imperial tuners, High Sensitive Filter‘Tron pickups, bar bridge with ebony base, ebony fingerboard with thumbprint inlays, and Country Gent nameplate on the headstock.

The neck has a C carve and medium depth, 1-11/16” nut, and short 24.6” scale.

Set-up in shop. The guitar looks new and shows almost no playwear. Close scrutiny might show a tiny scratch here or there, be we looked pretty hard. It’s gorgeous.
