2013 Martin 000-28ECM Eric Clapton Crossroads Madagascar
A dry and mature sounding 000, with the snap, articulation, and clarity of Madagascar rosewood and the warmth and complexity of a light scalloped bracing, a small maple bridge plate, and master-grade Carpathian spruce.
Like the standard Martin Eric Clapton 000-28 model, this guitar features herringbone trim and rosette, a gloss-finished 24.9” scale neck with a modified V carve and 1-3/4” nut, scalloped bracing, and a Sitka spruce top. Unlike the 000-28EC, this guitar is built with Madagascar rosewood back, sides and headstock overlay, features a wooden marquetry compass inlay in the headstock, and is fitted with a Crosswords paper label with both Eric Clapton’s and C.F. Martin IV’s signatures.
Ivoroid body bindings, tortoiseshell celluloid pickguard, ebony belly bridge with 2-1/4” string spacing, and bone saddle. Old-style headstock logo, vintage style open-geared tuners, bone nut, and pre-War style 42 snowflake inlays in the fretboard.
The neck has a soft V carve with a 1st fret depth of .864” and a 9th fret depth of .989”. The guitar weighs 4.4lbs. We have set the guitar up with 12-53 strings with action that measures 5-6.5 64ths at the 12th fret.
This 000-28 Crossroads is in immaculate, unplayed condition. We’ve cleanly reglued sections of binding at the body’s waist, which is the only reason we’re not calling it ‘mint’. There’s not a scratch on the guitar, the frets are unworn, and the setup and neck angle are perfect.
With original hardshell case, CoA, Crossroads CD and strap.
