2016 Collings D2HMRAT

Can it get any better than this? A Collings D2HA Traditional built with Madagascar rosewood back and sides and a torrefied Adirondack spruce top... Pretty hard to beat, we think. This is hands-down the loudest guitar in the store right now. Its voice is huge; bass to treble, this guitar is explosive. Likely the definition of flatpicking heaven.

The Collings D2H Traditional features animal protein glue in its construction, pre-war styled scalloped bracing, a thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish, and a different neck carve than a standard model Collings. The neck is carved and tapered similarly to a mid 1930's Martin, complete with a 1-3/4 nut width and a string spread of 2-5/16ths at the pins.

Dark Madagascar rosewood back and sides, red spruce top, wooden herringbone top trim, wood and celluloid rosette, diamond and square inlays. Waverly tuners, bone nut and saddle, ebony pins.

The guitar is in excellent condition and free of any repairs, cracks or damage. That said, the top's finish shows a good amount of fine pickwear scratching from a far-too-overzealous strummer. We've not been able to capture all of these fine scratches in the photos provided here, unfortunately. The frets show very little wear, and the guitar has just been set-up here at Folkway with medium gauge strings.
