2016 Epiphone Ltd Ed. Bonamassa “Treasure” Firebird 1

Built in limited quantities in 2016, the Epiphone Limited Edition Joe Bonamassa “Treasure” Firebird I was closely modelled after the blues guitarist’s famed 1963 Gibson Firebird I, which has been named “Treasure” by J.B. Featuring a neck-through 9-piece lamination of mahogany and walnut and Reverse Firebird body, contoured headstock, and the ProBucker FB720 - a faithfully reproduced Firebird pickup drawn up for this particular model – the Bonamassa Firebird I is an amazing reproduction of one of Gibson’s most sought-after 1960’s solidbodies.

The Bonamassa Firebird 1 features a Polymist Gold finish, Vintage reproduction Firebird pickguard, reproduction Kluson tuners, lighting bar bridge, and the Alnico 2 firebird pickup, which sounds remarkably ‘right’ and entirely different than a regular mini-humbucker. The neck has a carve modelled after Joe B’s original ’63, with a full 1-11/16 nut and rounded C shape. Rosewood fretboard with medium jumbo frets, 14” radius, and 24.75” scale, and a dual-action truss rod for better serviceability than the originals.

This example is in excellent condition and has been set-up here. The previous owner upgraded the electronics with Emerson pots and capacitors, and the truss rod cover has been replaced with one that says Gibson (which is an appropriate rebranding, given the high-quality of this build). The original truss rod cover and wire harness are included with the guitar. In the case pocket you’ll find the original Joe Bonamassa-signed CoA and original tags.
