Perhaps the best mahogany OM a lefty might have the chance to play, the Collings OM1A-JL is a remarkably responsive, focused, and open instrument, with a strong and present fundamental, glorious midrange, well developed bass, and thick treble. It’s equally well suited for flatpicking and fingerstyle, and a uniquely versatile flat-top. The OM1A-JL was the outcome of numerous years of back and forth between Bill Collings and Julian Lage, the former doing his best to create the latter’s dream modern/vintage hybrid flat top model, with a neck that’s modelled after Julian’s 1939 Martin 000-18.

This example sports an Adirondack spruce top, 1-11/16” nut width and 25.5” scale, Traditional-series construction details and appointments, including animal protein glue construction, thin satin lacquer finish, pre-war scalloped X bracing, and unique early-style Collings logo.

The guitar is in near-new condition and shows no playwear.
