2022 Collings CL Jazz

The Collings CL Jazz is a low-production thin hollowbody model that features a fully hollow mahogany body and a carved European spruce top, pickguard-mounted electronics, flush cut-away and integrated neck heel design, and a modern, classy aesthetic. With its thin 1-5/8” side depth and 15” wide body, the CL Jazz is a responsive and comfortable fully acoustic Jazz guitar, with reduced interior air volume to allow for a much higher feedback threshold when playing amplified. It sounds beautiful unplugged, and translates to an electric Jazz box with great ease and finesse, thanks to its Lollar Johnny Smith humbucker with a DC value of 6.2k.

The guitar’s neck is about as perfect as a guitar neck gets. It has a rounded carve with comfortably rolled edges and a depth of .862” at the 1st fret. The nut is 1-11/16” wide, scale is 25.5, and string spread is 2-1/8” at the bridge.

The guitar is fitted with a solid-base adjustable ebony bridge that is perfectly fit to the top, an ebony and brass tailpiece, and a modernistic bound ebony pickguard with under-guard volume and tone controls. Pearl double-parallelogram inlays decorate the fretboard and are repeated on the headstock. The body, neck, and headstock are all bound in ivoroid and feature mitred purflings throughout. Gloss finish, Gotoh tuners with ebonoid buttons.

This Collings CL Jazz is in AS-NEW condition and has just been set-up in our shop with Thomastik JazzSwing 12-50 flatwounds. It weighs a scant 5.5 lbs.
