c.1928 Stahl 000-Sized Style 6
This example has just been through our repairshop and has received a neck reset, fret dress, new saddle and bridge pins, along with various bracing glue-ups and a few crack repairs. It now plays easily and well and presents quite beautifully.
With its 15” wide 12-fret body, this Stahl has a strong voice, lots of volume and projection, plenty of fundamental presence, and particularly impressive string balance. Played fingerstyle or flatpicked the guitar has much to offer and is a worthy counterpart for the Martin or Gibson flat-tops you might be more familiar with.
The neck has a round carve and full-feel that fits nicely in your hand. Apart from its 1-7/8” nutwidth the neck has a most contemporary feel. The neck depth at the 1st fret is .925”, the scale length is 25.5”, and the string spread at the bridge is 2-3/8”. We have the guitar set up with 12-54 strings and a string action of 4.5-5.5 64ths.
Original finish throughout, plugged tailpiece screw-holes near the end-pin, original tuners, nut, frets, bridge, and endpin.
With 60’s chipboard case
