Collings I-35 LC Faded Cherry
The guitar features highly figured maple laminate top, back, and sides; inset maple center block, slim contour F-holes, aged white bindings, mahogany neck, and dot-inlaid rosewood fingerboard. This example was built with Lollar Low Wind Imperialhumbuckers, tone pros bridge, and bevelled 3 ply pickguard. Faded cherry finish (which they absolutely nailed), and aged finish and hardware. The nickel parts show light oxidation, and the finish is crackled and buffed to a medium lustre. There is no intentional mechanical aging.
A more perfect neck carve might not exist. The I-35 LC's neck has a medium depth, rounded carve with beautifully rolled edges. Nut measures 1-11/16”, scale is 24-7/8”, and the fingerboard is a straight 12” radius. Long mortise and tenon neck joint for the best in tone, and contoured heel for the best the feel.
