1932 Gibson L-00
Being an early 1932 model, this guitar has a full-depth fingerboard with a medium C round neck carve that feels quite natural in your hand. It’s not as chunky as some 1932 models, but is substantially thicker than the thin fretboard necks Gibson was spec’ing in 1931.
A pretty guitar with original painted bridge and cool original large-head bridge pins, white pickguard and binding and lamp-black finish. Original tuners, nut, finish and endpin. Playability is excellent thanks to fresh set-up work and saddle by our shop, and a partial refret that was professionally completed not too long ago judging by the absence of fretwear. We’ve set up the guitar with 12-54 strings and our standard 5-6/64ths action.
The guitar’s top remains in near-perfect structural condition. All the braces are tight and unrepaired, the original bridge plate is in great shape, and the top arch is just right. There are a number of old crack repairs to the back and sides that were completed with the back removed. The old repair work to the sides and back is old school (aka fairly crude on the inside) but the guitar presents well enough from the outside. The black finish has been touched up around the back’s edge and in the areas of the side repairs, which helps obscure the damage. A minor endpin crack was repaired in our shop. Thankfully, the top was barely affected and remains in great shape. There is minor impact damage at the very edge of the bass-side’s lower bout but there are no other top cracks.
X-braced spruce top, mahogany back and sides, rosewood board and bridge. 1-3/4” nut width, .845” 1st fret neck depth, 24.75” scale, 2-3/8” string spread at the saddle.
This guitar will ship from the USA and is available only to buyers in the USA.
