1937 Oahu 66K

Cleveland's Oahu Publishing company was the largest print music distributor in its day, and specialized in Hawaiian steel music and the instruments to play that style of music on. The guitars were built in Chicago by Kay, most often, and most were built with square necks for lap-style playing.

Here's an all-mahogany 66K; a 15-1/4" wide small jumbo (really more like an OM in size), with square neck, Hawaiian set up and some great looks. Sunburst finish on all sides, checkerboard binding, Oahu decal logo, Safe-ti-String tuners. Completely original, including the coolest set of two-tone celluloid bridge pins we've ever seen!

One minor top crack repaired in our shop, along with a bridge reglue, and patched bridge plate. It's a mellow slide, but quite a richly toned instrument, and quite beguiling as a result.

With original hard chipboard case.
