1950 Gibson L-50

FON 4959-13. The L-50 had a long and illustrious history in Gibson lineup. Introduced in 1932, and offered throughout the next four decades, the L-50went through many incarnations over the years, and countless thousands were built. By the end of the 1940's the L-50's design had pretty much reachedthe apex of its evolution; it was a 16" wide acoustic arch top with a pressed solid spruce top, laminate maple back and sides, bound rosewoodfingerboard with trapezoid inlays, and sunburst finish. What's fabulously cool about this particular L-50 is its factory original black lacquerfinish. With its single-ply white binding, beveled edge pickguard, and pearloid fingerboard inlays this is an eye-catching instrument; and what itlacks in model rarity, it makes up for in droves by its good looks. Completely original, this guitar is great to play simply because it looks socool. Sure, its neck feels great; and sure, the setup, frets, and playability are spot on; and sure, the original case is funky too - butlet's be honest here folks - it's all about looks, and you know how much your friends will salivate at the sight of this L-50!
