1955 Gibson ES-295
An incredibly exciting player-priced ES-295, this 1955 build is an excellent-sounding and playing guitar that is "wrong" in all the right ways. With original P-90 pickups, original body finish, and no breaks, this 295 offers all the tone and vibe one looks for in this model. A refinished neck and headstock- alongside a few other modifications - make this guitar notably more affordable than an otherwise all-original example. The less-than-optimal Les Paul trapeze-style bridge/tailpiece has been replaced with a Bigsby tailpiece and compensated wooden bridge, which is a huge upgrade in our estimation. While the treble-side capacitor and potentiometers are original, the rhythm side has been modified to include a push-pull tone pot that reverses the phasing of the neck pickup. This modification allows for some incredibly interesting tonal combinations with both pickups engaged. The rhythm side volume pot and capacitor were swapped alongside the tone pot.
Scale length of 24.75". First fret depth of 0.869", twelfth fret depth of 0.960", and a 1-11/16" nut width. Pickup DC readings of 7.8K in the bridge and 7.7k in the neck. Changed tuners, nut, frets, knobs. Jack-hole repair involves a new jack plate measuring 4 x 1.5 inches. Finish is well aged, with many craze lines and chips along the edges. Original nut and, capacitor, potentiometer, and pickguard bracket are included in the case pocket.
With hardshell case.
