1960 Fender Jazzmaster

A player’s dream, this early 1960 ‘slab-board’ Fender Jazzmaster is significantly more affordable than a collector-grade example thanks to its full professional refinish, changed pots, and later tuners. It’s in perfect working order, with gorgeous new frets and a perfect set-up, and its original black-bobbin pickups sound pretty-much heavenly. The neck carve is to-die-for, too, with a 1st fret neck depth of .800, a 12th fret depth of .970”, and a full, rounded feel.

12/59 body date under the shielding, no neck date (common in late 1959). Bridge pickup measures 7.5k, neck pickup measures 7.5k. The pickups offer a slightly thicker voice with stronger mid-range presence than the later grey-bobbin pickups, but still offer the string separation and articulation that Jazzmasters are known for.

Original hardware throughout, but for the Kluson double-line tuners. You’ll find evidence of other tuners hiding under the high E and B tuners. The guitar weighs in at 8.25lbs, and comes with its original tweed hardshell case.
