1969 Fender Telecaster Thinline

The Thinline Telecaster was introduced in late 1968 and remains one of the most successful post-CBS Fender models. This example was built in 1969 and remains largely original. It’s an incredible sounding Telecaster with a great feel and some serious one-owner mojo.

Neck dated October 1969, pots are dated 36th week of 1966, as is common in the late 1960s. The instrument is completely original but for the automotive switch tip, an added decal on the top, and one control knob (which is an earlier Telecaster part). It’s a well-played guitar with original frets, plenty of aging to the original finish, a chip missing from the pickguard, and lots of vibe. Set up here, playability is as good as can be with the low-feeling original frets.

The pickups are quite hot and read 7.4k and 7.3k. The neck measures .875” thick at the first fret and .947” at the 12th, and has a really chunky feel, and the guitar weighs 7.4lbs.
