1976 Gibson Les Paul Custom, Alpine White

Gibson's first production white-finished single-cut Les Paul Customs left the factory in 1974 and quickly became a staple in the company's lineup. The Alpine White Les Paul Custom has been made famous by many significant players, perhaps most notably Randy Rhoads.

A beautifully aged, authentic "relic," this once-white Les Paul Custom has yellowed into an attractive amber colour after decades of natural aging and use in smoke-filled bars. The gold plating on the hardware has the patina to match, with wear throughout the pickup covers, bridge, and tailpiece. The guitar is largely original, with the exception of a refret, a changed tone pot, and a lefty text truss rod cover.

Equipped with a pair of original "Patent Number" stamped T-Tops, this Les Paul puts out wonderfully warm, rich, and full-bodied humbucker tones with excellent definition and note separation. The medium C neck carve feels fast while still filling the hand comfortably. With a decades-old refret, the guitar still plays cleanly across the fingerboard. Fans of tall fretwire may feel the desire to refret this guitar sooner rather than later, but the current frets are more than sufficient and allow for an excellent set-up with action set to 4-5/64ths at the 12th fret.

Scale length of 24.75". First fret depth of 0.816", twelfth fret depth of 0.976", and a 1-11/16" nut width. Pickup DC readings of 7.4K in the bridge and 7.5k in the neck. Weight of 10lbs 10oz.

With original hardshell case.
