1980s Larrivée L-09

A Victoria-Label Larrivée L-09, this guitar has developed a sweet and open voice and lovely over-all warmth. It’s a finely-made guitar from an era when Larrivée was still building their guitars by hand in smaller numbers, and features high-quality tonewoods, an attractive mosaic rosette, rosewood bindings and wooden purflings.

A wonderful fingerstyle guitar with lots of subtlety, nice overtone development, warm low end and a vibrance through the midrange. It’s a pretty sounding guitar that encourages pretty playing.

1-3/4” nut width, 25.5” scale, 2-1/8” string spread at the bridge. Original frets have been dressed here at Folkway, and the guitar is set up with an action of 5-7 64th and light strings.

No cracks or repairs, L.R. Baggs Imix aftermarket electronics, and below average playwear. The neck heel shows a slight gap at its base, which is a common sight on Larrivées from this period. The neck joint is tight and issue free.
